MPB Booster News (Week of Sept. 26)

The MPB will begin its competition season with two marching contests on Saturday, October 1, 2016. The first competition will be in Cotulla at the MCB Cowboy Round-Up Marching Contest.  Performance time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.  The contest will be held at Myers Memorial Stadium at 1034 State Hwy. 97 Cotulla, Texas 78014.  After this contest the MPB will head to San Antonio to participate in the Southwest Drums Along the Medina Marching Contest.  Performance time is 4:45 p.m.  The contest will be held at Southwest Stadium at 11914 Dragon Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78252.  Fans should arrive at least an hour before performance time for both contests.  Good luck MPB!

The MPB Boosters continue their support of their beloved band by contributing their time, effort, and donations to help support the MPB.  This year the boosters manage the home concession stand and prepare all sorts of goodies to feed the always supportive and excited Wildcat fans.  They sometimes work more time for which they sign up.  MPB Booster officers, band members, and band directors really appreciate all the effort that the boosters put in to help out.  The MPB booster officers would like to invite the parents of all band members to help our wonderful band.

As always, the band, the directors, and the boosters would like to thank our continued MPB family of patrons which include Don Pedro’s Restaurant, Trinity’s Restaurant, Dimmit County Sherriff’s office, 3-S Services, Carrizo Springs Javelin, Chef Robert Guerrero, Gloria Vargas, and Josie Martinez, and of course, the wonderful parents who time and again come out to support our band—thank you so much for your support.

MPB Boosters Help During the Game

The MPB Boosters, as always, were ready and willing to help with half time drinks and help with distribution of food items for the band.  They also helped with clean-up afterward. Thank you to the parents who gave up their time before, during and after the Uvalde game to help out.

MPB Booster News

The MPB Boosters’ first concession stand was a great success thanks to the wonderful help of our MPB family of parents, guardians, and relatives.  The MPB Boosters would also like to thank our awesome extended family of continued supporters:  Joe Carmona of Don Pedro’s Restaurant, Joey Ruiz of Trinity’s Restaurant, Sheriff Marion Boyd and his staff, 3-S Services, H.E.B. and of course The Carrizo Springs Javelin—we really appreciate all you do for our community youth.

The next football game concession for MPB will be on September 16.  This will also be band parent’s night.  If you are a band parent and have not signed up to work and donate items or you would like to help the MPB in any way, please contact via email rescamilla@cscisd.net or at 830-876-9393 Ext. 4109 or you can also contact M. Cardenas via email mcardenas@cscisd.net  or at 830-876-3561 Ext. 5543.  In addition, community members or businesses who would like to help, please contact the people listed above.  We would love to add to our MPB family of supporters.

We would also like to invite the community to come out and spend some time and eat a meal (for a minimal fee) with the band on “Trinity Thursdays with MPB” at 8:00 p.m. at Trinity’s Restaurant—all proceeds raised go toward supporting the band.

Enthusiastic and Hardworking Boosters Make First Home Game Concession Successful!

As always, MPB Boosters worked like a well-oiled machine in order to make the first concession of the season a total success. Several parents, although they were only signed up for certain times, gave extra time and effort to make sure things turned out well.  Mr. Escamilla and Mrs. Cardenas would like to thank these parents in our MPB family for working so hard to support our band.  These efforts cannot be accomplished without your help.  Thank you!  Below are a few pics from this successful evening.

Practice Makes Perfect!

MPB is hard at work in every practice to perfect their show for the audience and contest.  Way to go, MPB!
